Boerse Stuttgart Group and Axel Springer SE Partner to Bring a New Digital Asset Trading Venue to Europe
As of March 27th 2019, Boerse Stuttgart Group and Axel Springer SE are collaborating to bring digital asset trading to Germany. In the summer of 2019, the joint venture plans to launch a digital asset trading venue to simplify smart investment decisions in the digital world.
Boerse Stuttgart Group and Axel Springer’s Partnership Explained
Boerse Stuttgart Groupe is a financial trading venue which provides “a transparent and reliable environment for executing investment decisions”.
Axel Springer SE is Europe’s leading digital publisher, which specializes in the development of sustainable digital business models. Axel Springer also operates Germany’s largest online financial portal, finanzen.net.
The two partners will now be joining forces to break into the digital asset industry.
They want to use blockchain technology to offer new investment opportunities, including digital assets.
Europe has recently seen an increase in the number of digital asset platforms becoming available to investors.
With the regulatory safety found in security tokens, more companies are turning to the potential seen in the integration of blockchain technology and finance.
Regulatory compliant equity, real estate, investment funds, and even fine art have all become tokenized, representing a new era of capital markets.
How Boerse Stuttgart Group and Axel Springer are Bringing Digital Assets to Europe
Per the details of the partnership, the two will establish a joint venture company based in Stuttgart with an office in Berlin.
Boerse Stuttgart Group is set to be the majority stakeholder in the venture. Axel Springer, along with finanzen.net, will stake 30%. The trading venue is set to launch in Germany during the summer of 2019.
The platform will serve both retail and institutional investors.
Chairman of the Management Board of Boerse Stuttgart GmbH Alexander Höptner described the benefits of the recent collaboration:
“The aim of Boerse Stuttgart Group is to focus sharply on retail investors and their needs. We have found ideal partners for this in Axel Springer as Europe’s leading digital publisher, and in the finanzen.net portal. Together we can offer investors comprehensive and integrated services for digital assets – from in-depth information to trading and custody.”
Dr Andreas Wiele— Member of the Executive Board of Axel Springer SE— explained his thoughts on the integration of blockchain and finance:
“The use of blockchain technology as part of our cooperation with Boerse Stuttgart Group is in line with our strategy of offering Axel Springer customers the entire range of services – from independently researched information right through to the investment process itself.”
Senior Vice President of New Business for Axel Springer SE Dr Valentin Schöndienst also provided comments on the partnership:
